Alex Somers RELEASES "LIGHT PAST BLUE" WITH ASKA MATSUMIYA

Alex Somers & Aska Matsumiya have released their mini album Light Past Blue, initially made for a twenty-six speaker surround sound installation for French artist Claire Taboret's exhibition 'If Only The Sea Could Sleep', in 2019.

“ Light Past Blue is at once a birth and a death. It’s music that is in a state of becoming, never quite arriving or leaving… Like life, it is fleeting and temporary and repetitive but never exactly the same each time you experience it. This piece of music explores all of these cyclical themes around how it feels to love, to discover, to know loss, and to find hope. Thank you to our amazing friends Gyða Valtýsdóttir (cello) and Mary Lattimore (harp) for such beautiful playing.”
